Although I have a passion for the independent artist movement and love what I do, I have no other life beyond this. I hope to get back to writing and finishing my songs, but I have come too far to turn back now.  So they will have to wait a little more.

On better note, the pieces are falling together and I am exceptionally happy with the results. I am personally working on many of the designs, re-tweaking the code, and restructuring the entire site just the way I want it. Nice!

Now that I am the webmaster of my site again, I did notice one thing I am delighted about. Our independent artist ads are doing really well… our other campaigns, not so good. It is something that I wanted all along for our site… to deal with only independent artist services, bands, music and art. It’s nice to know I was right all along and fans support the work of artists.

So am going to continue on my track to empower indie artists and build it on the gighive foundation. But for now it is back to work. Anyway

Follow the Journey…

I am glad I at least  learned some of the basics. I now have a new  understanding on what goes on behind the scenes of my networking site gighive. I am able to do much of the design work myself and even write some of my own scripts. Well not my own, but I do a lot of tweaking to someones else’s code I paid for. So yeah, its my code :    )

But things are just getting heated as I finish the work on many of the new pages. At least now that I am not paying for updates, I can hire some new writers for our independent artist blog and give my editor some much needed help. Nice!

But in the end, the basic vision of the site never came to past and I was left with a site that wasn’t quite up to par. Close, but not close enough.

So this time, while I am working with a new programmer, I have been quietly acquiring a new set of skills; designing and building my own networking site. Giving a new meaning to the words Start up, DIY and saving money. It wasn’t easy, but it seems the more I tinker the easier it gets. So while I am still waiting to launch GiGHiVE (Which is very soon) I am personally designing some of it main sections along with my editor; which includes our new blog The Buzz.

So stayed tuned for the official launch of the network.

Nov. 24, 2008… We were all set to go with the launch of gighive. We painstakingly went over all the details months prior and you can say we were confident and ready. So what happened. We failed! But the good news, as a new start up we learned a valuable lesson. As a team we are only as strong as our weakest link. So you can say we are in the process of replacing that link.
